Programs and EventsBasketball: 7-9th Grade BoysThis team is for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade boys interested in fellowship and competition against other church teams. The team participates in the Raleigh Baptist Association (RBA) basketball league which consists of teams with 7th- 9th graders. Team practices are held Mondays, 5:30-6:45 pm, in the FUMCC fellowship hall. The first practice is tentatively scheduled for August 29. Registered players/parents will be added to the coach’s email distribution to receive updated information, including confirmation of the first practice date, practice schedule, and game information. The team is coached by Mike Ripberger and Tony Cashion. Register here beginning Tuesday August 9 2011. Contact: Mike Ripberger.
Beginning this year, league rules for boys’ teams do not allow players to participate on the church team if they are on a school basketball team. Players are allowed to participate in the church team practices until they find out whether they made their school basketball team.

Basketball: Middle School Girls
This will be the fourth season the FUMC middle school girls have participated in the Cary First Baptist Church League. The league has eight teams in the Cary/Raleigh area. Our middle school teams have either won or shared first place the last three years. Last year our team was undefeated in both league and tournament play. Our team consists of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from FUMC and friends of our girls and is coached by Ronnie Albritton and Robyn Marley. We encourage players of all skill levels to participate. We enjoy devotions and prayer at every game we play. Our league motto is taken from Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. We practice once a week in the FUMC fellowship hall/gym. The day has yet to be determined. I will have an organizational meeting around Thanksgiving. To be added to the contact list, contact the head coach: Ronnie Albritton (602-7978).
