Wednesday Fellowship Feast and Table TalkWednesday nights are active at FUMCC. With choirs, Fellowship Feast, Table Talk and Small Talk, and small group opportunities, there are a variety of ways for anyone to Connect With God, Connect With People and Connect With Service.
Our Wednesday Night gatherings have resumed! Come join us! If your group would like to host a Fellowship Feast, please contact Alice Kunka at akunka@fumc-cary.org.
Missed a Table Talk? Click here to watch them online! Fellowship FeastEach Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. our congregation gathers for a fellowship dinner hosted by different groups within the church. This is a time to come together to enjoy each other’s company and get to know one another. The cost of the dinner is $7 for adults, $5 for adults 65 and older and $3 for children 12 and under with a $20 family max. Please note: In order to be good stewards of our resources, we will not prepare extra. We will prepare food and materials based on the registrations, so registration is required.
Fellowship Feast Schedule
Table Talk and Small TalkJoin us for Table Talk on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Each week is a separate discussion, so you are welcome to join us on any of the days. Running in conjunction with Table is Small Talk (elementary in room 118, preschool in room 104, and infant/toddler in room 112), a children’s version of the same discussions. Youth are invited to participate in Table Talk. Please register online in the “Fellowship Feast” registration form.
Our Table Talk series to kick off the New Year will be a study of the Gospel of Mark. Mark, the shortest and perhaps first of the four gospels, has its own distinctive themes in telling the story of Jesus. Our study will focus on those themes and the ways they are interwoven throughout the gospel.
Jan 3: For Starters
Jan 11: It's a Miracle
Jan 18: What's Your Hurry?
Jan 25: What Kind of Talk is That?
Feb 1: Shh, It's a Secret
Feb 8: What's In It For Me?
Feb 15: What's That Got to Do with Me?
"The Messiah" And The Bible (Nov. 9 - Dec. 7)
In 1741, Charles Jennens composed a text of scriptural passages telling the story of Jesus – his birth, his Passion and Resurrection, and his ascension. Jennens’ desire was to stress the Incarnation of Christ and God’s work of redemption. He sent the text to his friend, Charles Frideric Handel, who in 24 days set the text to music. We know the completed oratorio as “The Messiah.” Part I of “The Messiah” focuses on Christ’s coming and the Virgin Birth. During November, as we prepare for Advent and Christmas, we will study the texts used in the Christmas portion of “The Messiah” to enhance our appreciation of the music that we will experience in worship on December 18. Topics:
Nov. 9: Comfort, Comfort My People
Nov. 16: Who May Abide The Day of His Coming?
Nov. 30: For Unto Us a Child Is Born
Dec. 7: Glory to God in the Highest
ChoirsThe church is filled with joyous music on Wednesday afternoons as our children's choirs sing and ring. Adult choir also practices on Wednesdays. Click here to see our music offerings.
