Director of Youth Ministries

First United Methodist Church of Cary, a vibrant congregation of 3,800 members, is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry who has a God-given passion and love for working with students from sixth through twelfth grade. FUMCC has an average worship attendance of 1,100 and a vision to help people connect to God, people, and service.

The FUMCC Youth Ministry is led by a multi-staff team and is poised for greater success in reaching a growing student population. With a history of great programs and excellent leadership, the church is building a sustainable infrastructure to take the ministry into the future.

The Director of Youth Ministry will provide a comprehensive ministry and discipleship program that includes development in the areas of Christian formation, equipping and empowering lay leaders, and partnering with parents in the spiritual development of youth.

This person, who should have at least 5 years experience in youth ministry leadership, will help implement and carry out the vision of the youth ministry, build teams of volunteers and paid staff to create an exciting and welcoming faith community. He or she will join and supervise a team that includes a High School Coordinator, a Middle School Coordinator, an administrative assistant and a volunter base. Interested candidates should also have a college degree.
