The table is central to life. We eat at tables, talk around tables, meet new friends around tables, and receive nourishment around the table. In this series, we will explore how the table informs and shapes our Christian life together.
October 4 – God’s Table – Luke 22:13-35 Why do we have communion as a sacrament? And how large is God’s table anyway? Is there enough room for everyone?
October 11 – Family Dinner Table – Acts 2, 42-47; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 The table binds us together as family. It is where we receive nourishment, identity, and memory.
October 18 – Sinners at the Gospel Feast – Luke 5:30-32 The table can be a place of forgiveness. The table is also boundary breaking.
October 25 – Extending the Table – Luke 6:20-21; Luke 14:12-23 The table is open to all people. It is a place where the hungry find nourishment.
November 1 – Banquet Table – Isaiah 25:6-9 The Lord is preparing a heavenly banquet for the saints.
