FUMCC’s newest way to “Connect with People”: GPS Groups which will consist of *Pray, Love groups and Spiritual APPS (Act, Pray with People, Serve) groups.
How did we come up with this idea? Last fall, a new group was offered called “Eat, Pray, Love” which capitalized on the success of the movie based on a book by the same name. The group actually had nothing to do with the book or movie, but the title attracted around 25 folks who came on Thursdays at noon to eat, pray, and love.
This fall, we are offering a variety of groups which are similar to last year’s group, but with a twist: the groups will relate to an affinity or interest of the participants and the commonality will be the 4R prayer time (praying with scripture: Read, Reflect, Respond, and Rest in God’s Word). Also, groups will discuss some way they (individuals or the group) will share the love of Christ that week.
The possibilities are endless, but below are some ideas. If you would like to start a GPS, contact Rev. Alice Kunka.

Along with *Pray, Love groups, we will encourage the formation of Spiritual APPS Groups: (Act, Pray with People, Serve) for those with a passion for serving those in need. Again, the sky’s the limit, but possibilities could include:
· Spiritual APPS#1…to serve those who are hungry
· Spiritual APPS#2 … to reach out to FUMCC’s neighbors
· Spiritual APPS #3… to study “The Hole in the Gospel” and reach out to those who are poor.
