Graduate Breakfast
All FUMC graduates in the class of 2008 are invited to a breakfast in your honor at 9:00 a.m. on June 1 in the Fellowship Hall. Your family is invited to join you as well. The deadline to register is Monday, May 26th. Graduates are asked to bring their cap and gown to the breakfast in order to prepare for the processional and recessional at the 11:15 a.m. service.
Summer Programs
July 10 ~ Carowinds
FUMC Youth Day Trip to Carowinds Theme Park Thursday, July 10. Cost: $75.00 Registration fee (covers admission and transportation), payment and medical form due by Friday, June 27 to reserve your place for this day trip. What to bring checklist: wear Sunglasses (it’s bright!) Hat/cap (to protect your face) sunscreen Money for meals comfortable clothing (ie, t-shirt, shorts, athletic shoes) CD players with headphones are OK. Schedule: Please eat breakfast before you arrive. We will not be stopping on the way up. 7:00 a.m. Meet at church office. Circle up for prayer. Depart. 10:00 a.m. Pick up group tickets and enter the park. Play time! 1:00 p.m. Check in with chaperones and eat lunch 2:00 p.m. Play time! 7:00 p.m. Check in at the park entrance for departure. Stop for fast food supper on the ride home. 11:00 p.m. Arrive at FUMC.
July 18-19 ~ Fitch Cabin (grades 9-12)
We will leave the church at 5:30pm and return by 9:00pm on Saturday. Enjoy swimming, a camp fire, and other outdoor activities in beautiful Caswell County. Limited spaces, register by July 13. $20.00 fee covers transportation and all three meals on Saturday. We will stop for fast food on Friday.
July 27 ~ Water Park
Join other United Methodist youth at the 22nd annual UMY Splash Celebration at Wet’n Wild Emerald Pointe. $30.00 includes transportation, park admission and lunch. We will leave the church after Sunday School and return by 7:00 pm Bring money for snacks, souvenirs and a fast food dinner on the way home. Limited spaces. Register by July 18.
July 28 - Aug. 1 ~ Mission Week
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm $100.00 Fee includes: transportation, lunch, activities, snacks & t-shirt.
Youth will gather for five full days of Bible study, service, fellowship, and recreation at FUMC and White Plains UMC.
Mission Week gives youth an opportunity to learn about many of the service ministries in the Raleigh/Cary area while providing these ministries with volunteer help.
You can expect to:
• help in soup kitchens, gleaning projects, food shuttles, and at-risk children centers
• enjoy lunch out, picnics and other recreational activities such as swimming, skating, bowling, movies, etc…
( a detailed schedule will be available prior to camp) Registration deadline is Sunday, July 13. Applications are accepted on a first-come basis. Apply early—only 25 spaces are available!
Aug. 7 ~ Day Beach Trip
Join your church friends and bring a friend for a day at Kure Beach. There's no cost; however, you MUST register by August 1! What to bring checklist: Sunscreen & change of clothes, beach towel, chair, beach toys, sunglasses, bag lunch and $5-6 for fast food meal on the way home.
