Music Opportunities for Children

VOCAL CHOIRS

Wiggle and Worship
Age 2 to 2.5 years w/caregiver. Wednesday, 5:15 - 5:45p.m. Room 116. Toddlers and caregivers will explore church songs using voice, body movements and simple instruments. Contact Patti Cook.

Giggles and Gifts
Age 3. Wednesday, 5:15 - 5:45p.m. in room 118. Knowledge of church music is expanded using voice, body movements and instruments. Contact Patti Cook.

Prance and Praise
Age 4. Wednesday, 5:00 - 5:30p.m. in room 124. Four-year-olds will learn traditional songs to enjoy for a lifetime. Contact Patti Cook.

Sing & Shine
Kindergarten. Wednesday, 5:15 to 5:45 in room 125. We will be singing, dancing and learning about notes and rhythms. Contact Patti Cook.

Templeton Choir
1st grade. Wednesday, 5:15 - 6:00p.m. in room 114. We will be singing, dancing and learning about notes and rhythms. The choir will use 1st grade energy and enthusiasm to learn the fun of making music for God! Contact Patti Cook.

Grace Notes
2nd-3rd grade. Wednesday, 5:00 - 5:45p.m. in the choir room. Rhythm and singing on pitch are emphasized. We will read music from a score and sing canons, hymns, spirituals and anthems as we prepare to sing in worship. A Christmas or spring musical may be scheduled. Contact Patti Cook.

Asbury Choir
4th-5th grade. Wednesday, 4:30 - 5:15p.m. in the choir room. Fundamentals taught at this age include the use of rounds, canons and descants that build confidence to begin three and four part singing in New Spirit Youth Choir. This choir will sing in worship and perform either a Christmas or spring musical. Contact Patti Cook.

HAND BELL CHOIRS

Choir Chimes
4th-5th grade. Wednesday, 5:15 - 6:00p.m. in room 118. Hand chime program for beginning ringers with no ringing experience. Contact Ann Leary.

Wesleyan Ringers
5th grade. Wednesday, 5:15 - 6:15p.m. in the Sanctuary. For experienced ringers and/or a good knowledge of music. Contact David Marlette.

Children’s Strings
Ages 10+. Open to children with ensemble experience or taking lessons privately who would work toward sharing their talent in a worship setting. Contact Ted Wagner.
