Children > Methodist Children's Center (MCC)
First united Methodist Church sponsors this learning center as a community ministry of child care and development. The Center opened in 1967 with a preschool program; the extended day program was added in 1974. The Center has a highly qualified staff of 22 with a total enrollment of 150.
As Christians, we offer an environment of care, concern, love and understanding. We believe each child is an individual who grows at his or her own rate and that motivation for growth comes from within the child and his or her environment. We believe a loving, warm environment of acceptance and support enhances this growth, so each child can grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. The teachers at MCC are dedicated to providing for this total growth of a child, where the child's positive self esteem is of the utmost concern. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a child can explore, share, play and communicate with other children of his or her own age.
The Center offers preschool classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds, extended day (including preschool) for 3, 4, and 5 year olds, and an after school program with pick up from limited Cary schools for children in public kindergarten through grade 3.
