The Transformation of a Man's Heart: Reflections on the Masculine Journey, compiled and edited by Stephen W. Smith. This book is a collection of stories written by twelve men who write from their hearts about their own journey toward transformation

Transformation by Howard Baker, Gordon Dalbey, and Stephen W. Smith is a study book in the "Transformation of Man's Heart" series. The book can be used individually for devotional and inspirational reading and also can be used as a basis for group study. [Donated in memory of Pia Humphrey Eyberg by her children Erik, Paige, and Emily Eyberg, April 2007.]

Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul by John Eldredge. The author states in the "Introduction" that he offers this book "as a safari of the heart to recover a life of freedom, passion, and adventure. I believe it will help men get their heart back-and women as well." [In memory of Don Craddock donated by the Young Men's Bible Class]

Raising a Modern-Day Knight: A Father's Role in Guiding His Son to Authentic Manhood by Robert Lewis. From the book cover: "Complete with illuminating Scriptures, eye-opening illustrations, and the personal experiences of others, Raising a Mondern-Day Knight provides a clear understanding of mature masculinity - a vision you can pursue together with your son!"

Effective Men's Ministry: The Indispensable Toolkit for Your Church, Phil Downer, Editor. This comprehensive handbook includes five stages of building a powerful men's ministry with information from prominent pastors and men's leaders. The leaders for the men's ministry will find this book very helpful.

When Men Think Private Thoughts: Exploring the Issues that Captivate the Minds of Men by Gordon MacDonald. The author offers insight and encouragement as he discusses the topics that often define a man's life. His book is designed for men, but his wife states in the Foreword that it is her hope "that both men and women will come to many 'aha' moments as they read these pages together." A study guide is included in the book.

Mid-Course Correction by Gordon MacDonald. States the author: "I still see ways in which I must change direction. In character, habits, personal conduct. This is okay because I've become newly convinced that the refining of self is a key to a long and vital life. This is what it means to be on the growing edge." He explains the title as "the process that introduces biblically based life-change to a man or woman who has lost vital optimism."

Ordering Your Private World by Gordon MacDonald. "Forget the gadgets and start with the interior, the private world. The order we seek begins with a thorough scouring of the inside of life." [from the Introduction by the author] A study guide is included in the book.

Boiling Point: Understanding Men and Anger by Stephen Arterburn and David Stoop. The authors trace the roots, realities and results of masculine anger and why it sometimes affects many aspects of men's lives. This book offers constructive steps to help cope with men's anger. It is written for women as much as it is for men.

Half Time: Changing Your Game Plan from Success to Significance by Bob Buford. Statement from Henri Nouwen: "Halftime . . . is a radically personal, honestly engaging, deeply moving, and spiritually challenging book." The author explains, "My passion is to inspire business and professional leaders to embrace God's calling and move from success to significance." . If Only He Knew: Understanding Your Wife
by Gary Smalley. Gary and his wife have written many materials and led seminars about marriage. This book is written to help men understand not only how to respond to a woman's feelings, but also how to make her feel important.

God Calls Men to Move Beyond THE SILENCE OF ADAM Becoming Men of Courage in a World of Chaos, written by Dr. Larry Crabb with Don Hudson and Al Andrews. From the Introduction: "Spiritual manhood involves the courage to keep on moving - in the middle of overwhelming confusion - toward relationships. . . . Join us in thinking through what it means to be a man, to live as God intended men to live."

Finishing Strong: Going the Distance for Your Family by Steve Farrar. Dr. Tony Evans makes the statement that this book "is one of the strongest, most challenging, most convicting books written that I have ever read. It is must reading for those men who want to cross the finish line of life as winners." A study guide is included in the book.

Season of Life: a football star, a boy, a journey to manhood by Jeffrey Marx. This book is about relationships, responsibility, courage. Being a man means that empathy, integrity, and living a life of service to others are more important than points on a scoreboard. The author has written a moving story about what it means to be a man of substance and impact.

A Man's Guide to the Spiritual Disciplines: 12 Habits to Strengthen Your Walk with Christ by Patrick Morley. The author states in the Introduction: "God is always broadcasting through His works, Word, whisper, and witness. We just have to put ourselves within range. I hope this book will help you draw closer to God and clearly hear His voice." Each chapter concludes with discussion questions that can be used individually or for group study.
